agreed, it would have been much simpler and less caustic than trying to man-handle a coupld of pissed off chicks.
Perhaps the officer did not have a tazer? But the backup should have been called long before the situation escallated.
If you noticed the size and make-up of the crowd, I would have certainly made a call for backup, and as the situation escallated, I would have made more calls for more backup.
Also notice how none of the crowd offered any assistance to the officer, hoping that it would escallate into a more violent confrontation. And so they would have a front seat at the show.

Had the lady just followed the instructions from the officer, instead of escallating it by resisting, this could all have been avoided. And her FRIEND certainly had NO right whatsoever to put her hands on the officer to prevent him from doing his duty. She may not have needed a punch in the face, but given the circumstances I would have popped the chick too.

Its beyond me why people immediatly think that they do NOT have to follow the instructions of an officer. Granted they may not sounds right at the time, but the officer issues command that do many things, first and foremost are commands issued that create a safety barrier around the officer. When that barrier gets violated, you cannot fault the officer for protecting his safety by whatever force he deems nessesary at the time. in a violent and caustic situation such as that the officer just reacted. His body took over and did what it had to do to control the situation. Fight or Flight baby, and these officers are not trained to run!
