Want to wish all the FOHAF family a Happy Thanksgiving!
This is opening day for gun season and I'm not in the woods. Having sciatica issues on my left side, saving my strength for this afternoon's hunt with my youngest grandson. We'll go sit in the shooting house about 3:30 this afternoon and see if we have any visitors.
Even though my health is not what it was a years or so back, I have so much to be thankful for! Gettin' old gives a somewhat different view of life. Some may recall 3 years ago my wife had quadrupal bypass surgery and last year I had a total knee replacement and 5 months later I had a total hip replacement. This has slowed us down considerably but we really look forward to days like today when all our children and their families will sit at our table and recall the blessings of our lives.
Y'all have a great Thanksgiving!

Farmer, I remember the day Mrs. Joy went into surgery. You called on the FOHAF family for prayers and keep everyone updated on her recovery. I can also remember shortly after your surgery you climbed WAY up high to cut a limb off the deer stand. Seems like there was a ladder in the back of your truck or something like that and me telling you that you had no business climbing up there. I just cooked a 30 quart pot full of mustard greens to be enjoyed by the family later today. Funny how when families get together everyone has their signature dish that everyone wants them to bring. For some reason I'm always asked to bring greens. (I don't know maybe they just don't want to have to wash them) I always get called upon to cut the meat usually a turkey and a ham. The wife is always asked to bring this pineapple dish that is nothing but a cholesterol heart attack waiting to happen. it's really simple to make it's nothing but butter sugar pineapple and sliced bread. I'll also say there is never any left. I'm thankful for all of the days that we get to spend together as a family.

:saluting
