GUNBOY, thanks for the heads up on that Winchester 9422m XTR. Not quite a holy grail gun but for sure one of my top 5 want to buy someday guns. I wasn't quite sure at first and almost passed on it due to condition, but getting the guy down from 450$ to 325$ helped make up my mind, and EVERYTHING you said about what is original & how to clean etc. was spot on. A complete strip & cleaning with 4-0000 steel wool/solvent/oil & it really cleaned up dramaticly. While by no means a show piece it easily came up from 50% to 75%?, and will make a heck of a gun. My Winchester book states the 9222 magnum xtr version is one of the best production guns ever made. By the smooth feel of the lever & all steel parts inside bright and shiny, I have no doubt it will be a real good shooter. Your advice over the years has always been right on, & will be missed. Good luck on the new job & the crap gun laws in Maryland.
Good luck up there!
Maryland? Hmm, I agree with Nacho; best wishes on the gun laws and I hope you find new hunting land soon. It was good to at least briefly meet you and pick up a classic of of a gun.
