There are good cops out in the world still...

We are up here at our place in Steinhatchee. Mid afternoon, we are all out in the carport having some cool ones, shooting the breeze. We saw a cop go by, then circle the block, then pull in our driveway. We were thinking, oh crap what did we do....
:usa3

He walks up and grabs a chair. I asked him if he wanted a bottle of water, and got him one out of the fridge, next to the 2000 Miller Lites and Mic Ultra's inside the fridge.
Said he was stopping by, simply because this is his area now. He had driven by many times and not seen a vehicle here. Just wanted to introduce himself and get to know the residents and familiarize himself with everyone and their vehicles. Told him I was up here every 3 weeks, and every weekend during hunting season. Told him my hunting buds truck make/color and he had permission to be here. Anyone else he had my permission to cuff & stuff. Talked hunting for a minute and he commented on my tripod stand in the yard.
He gave us his card, we shook hands, I thanked him for the work first responders do in this country and he said to call if he ever needed him.

Been a long time since I have seen personal attention (on the good end) from LEO. Glad to know some good ones in small town USA still exist :united

That's great to hear. Used to be that every LEO knew everyone in their area by name, but those days are gone. Nice to see at least in your area someone still cares.
