true.. i would not shoot a deer just for the cape.. Now if i was going to eat the meat.. well the cape is going to be in the gut pile so why not use it!

don't want to offend anyone, everyone has the right to hunt for what ever reason they find.

The reason you measure your deers neck is to get a form that would re-create your deer best the are 2 types southern and northern forms and they com in many styles! The southern form will have a thinner neck line and then with a replacement cape of same or similar sizes as yours to replicate your animal best.

Many ppl buy replacement capes because of blemishes or damage to their original cape.plus good pictures will aide the taxidermist in matching capes and painting best to fit your deer.
