thanks, its my only buck this year so far. i missed one during archery had another shot at a good deer but i had my little sister with me and she is just getting into hunting so i let her take the shot. it was great she got her second animal and her first buck.

Some guys go with smaller capes from smaller animals because it makes the rack look bigger

i have heard that before but i don't like going with smaller capes, i think what you shoot is what you shoot. you shot it for a reason if you don't like it you shouldn't have shot it. few years back i had a cape with a bad bullet hole in it.
when i brought it to the taxidermy some one there recommended i shoot a spike and swap the cape. i don't know how others feel about this but i think it was horrible advice, theres nothing wrong with shooting little deer if you want the meat or have not shot many deer but to shoot a deer just for the cape i think is wrong.
