What the hell is the purpose of this thing? Besides being a complete and utter waste of tax money($5 billion).
The idiot voters in this state voted for this thing, then Jeb Bush voted it down. Now they are shoving it down our throats again. Best I can tell is it will create a few temporary jobs, which will make Obummer look good.

To me it is not even practical to utilize the train. I live in North Tampa. I can drive to anywhere in Orlando in 1 hour. For me to take the train I would have to:
Drive my vehicle 20 miles to the train hub in Ybor city.
Pay money(rumor is it is going to be around $50 for a round trip ticket) to board train, then wait around for train to board and leave.
Sit on train for 20-30 minute ride.
Get to wherever it takes you, then either have to pay a taxi or rent a car to get around Orlando.
By my math I see it taking twice as long and twice as much money to use this stupid thing, as opposed to just driving

Exactly right. All they talk about is how quickly someone can get from one place to another, never what they will do once they get somewhere. Unless they make it ferry train that can carry your car to your destination, like the Chunnel between London and Paris, then you are left using taxis or non-existent bus services. The whole things is ridiculous.

Well since they're gonna build a new baseball stadium in Tampa for hundreds of millions, they might as well spend a few billion more for this train so the fans can get drunk on it from Orlando. It will have stops at the new ball park and Disney. Obama's also ending the space program I heard this morning.
