in life for my son. dropped him off in Tampa monday night for his flight to San Antonio,Texas to join the Air Force :rockon :rockon . making me feel real :crip now,,lol. his plans are to go into the Logistics and Intelligence field after bmt and schooling. my dream as a youngster was to be a boat capt and i have surpassed it in more levels than i ever imagined. i hope his dreams come true, whatever they are :toast :toast

Good choice. Best of luck to your boy. I did 10 in the AF, and if they hadn't offered early retirement, I'd have stayed for 20. Intel field is the way to go if he plans on a career after the AF. An active TSSI security clearance is an instant $40k increase in salary to whatever DoD contract jobs are out there at the time. Several friends of mine went the DoD contractor route with top secret clearances, and they're all making in the mid 150s with only a CCAF (community college of the Air Force) 2 year degree.
Know your son is in our prayers. Wish more kids took the initiative. Of course, our "king" Obama is discouraging it with his anti-military stance. Oh well, only 3 more years.
