I just purchased a 2003 Ford F-150 extended cab 4x4. I got a good deal on it since it only has 45K original miles on it.

The previous owner used only conventional 5w-20 oil in it. I'm thinking about switching over to Mobile One exclusively.

Any thoughts or comments as to whether or not this is a good way to go?

Thanks.

Once you switch to synthetic dont switch back.

I only use mobil 1 synthetic in my truck.

I was told once you go synthetic you cant go back. Something about the seals can leak or something. Not sure. I do my own oil changes so i stay synthetic. Its more expensive tho. Just oil and filter is 50 bucks for my truck. Regular oil would be like 30.

i use castrol or valvoline synthetic in both my trucks, if you get the filter and jug of oil at the auto stores, it is usually under $30, and you can easily drop oil changes to once every 7000 miles, so it pays for itself.

I got a rear main seal leak on a 1998 Montero. Used synthetic for months and it leaked real bad. Switched over to 10w-40 and the leak is almost gone. I don't think I'll ever use synthetic again unless it was a brand new car.
