A friend of mine lives on the outside edge of the Brady Ranch He said every once in a wile he will see either an axis or an elk aroud his house. I dont know how often it is but could you imagine seeing a 700lb elk feeding in your yard when you leave for work.
It would shoot if in my yard. Yep i be late for work that day.
There's a bunch of those high fence places in and around sand hill hunt club. About 5-6 yrs ago a friend was hunting with his group running dogs in there. One guy said they were running two elk. They poured the dogs to them and ended up killing both. They ended up being red stags. Not huge racks, but TONS of meat
They killed the poor farmer's stud axis buck there back 6-7 years ago. Slapped it on top of the dog box and rode it around town lol... only in Taylor Co.
once it out and in the wild its a none native species. I dont know if they have cattle tags for them?
