Time again to get tires. This will be my 4th set on this truck (original set + 2 sets of BFG's). I am pretty convinced I want something different than the BFG's this time. This last set wore kinda funny, and honestly I did not get as many miles out of them as I would have liked

Seriously thinking about the Cooper Discover AT3. Apparently they have the highest consumer report ratings of any tire in its class. My cousin has them on his truck for 2 years now. Uncle just got them at a local Olin Mott, and got them for a little over $800 out the door. Ill be a little more for me as I have a bigger tire than he does
Thoughts?

Remember you lose some gear with bigger tires i went from 31=1050 perfect little tire to 33 1250. it changed enough when towing the bay boat that i don't like it.

I run BFG M/T's. I switched to them after a set of BFG A/T's. I like them much better but they are expensive!!! It's a good thing they wear well. LOL!.

I cannot remember what we put on my wife's old Cherokee. I am pretty sure they were Cooper Discoverer's.....whatver they were I liked them. They have lasted several years now and are very stable and quiet on the road. My mother has that Cherokee now so we still see it regularly.

If you read up on the Cooper's and like what you hear and can get them anywhere's near that price give them a shot.

If you can stick with a regular radial street tire check out Uniroyal. I have over 80k miles on mine right now (yes, they are almost in need of changing). No BS, I found the receipt in my glove box the other day. I bought these tires the summer of '05. They've lasted a long time. There again, my commute is short compared to most and I've never bailed off in the mud with my truck.
