Where I live now I have 3 options for TV service (besides just what you can get with antenna). We currently have Comcast Basic cable channels, then there's Dish Network or Direct TV available.
To upgrade my Comcast to an account where I can get ESPN, History, Discovery, USA, Food, etc. I go from less than $20/month to $50/month just for TV portion.
The satellites offer packages around $30-35/month with more channels than I'll ever watch, so money-wise they seem to be the best deal. But if I'm gonna have reception trouble every time it rains or a squirrel farts next to the dish, it ain't worth it.
So who has what for TV service, how do you like it and would you recommend it?
Satellite wants a signed contract. If it requires a year contract what wrong with there service? If its that bad do I really what it.
Sorry but to me, signing a year contract means they suck service quality probably both.
I had both brighthouse cable and direct sat. when it worked I thought the picture was better with direct sat, but it would go out with every heavy storm, and if it needed fixing they said it's your machine and you gotta pay to have it fixed. so now were with brighthouse, it aint perfect with pixel and sound problems at times but are generaly fast to fix it and no charge. it aint perfect and not cheap, but don't see many other options.
We had Dish network years back. I swore if they were my only option, I would do away with TV. I hated the service. Every time a cloud got within 20 miles, the service would go out
Got Verizon FIOS now and couldn't be happier
I wish they'd run FiOS through here so I had that option. Right now my only TV options are antenna, Comcast, DirectTV or Dish Network.
