My mom 83 got one for rolling through. After watching the tape she did hit the brakes but no actual complete stop and she still swears that she stopped. The light on Gandy blvd turning towards MacDille which she has done a couple of thousand times in the last 20yrs. Just a money maker for the state.
all those q-tip heads barely peeking over the steering wheel can't all be yankees. I think some of these wild young dixie chicks who have had a license for a month or 2 with an attitude are the worst. had 1 make a left on red smoking, talking on the cell phone and flipping me the bird at the same time, she almost t-boned me. the best are the old fogeys creating a new drive thru.

It's called multi-tasking :rockon
go tcr, thats why they call it the hammer lane, slower traffic stay the F*** right
Got one sitting on my side table. Not going to pay it. It shows a KIA registered to me turning right on red where there's a "no turn on red" sign, on a Tuesday at 1:45 in the morning. I was not the driver, but it is my vehicle. If they want to issue a ticket to me, fine, I'll go to court. Then they're gonna have to prove it was me driving, and burden of proof is on the accuser. I don't have to prove it wasn't me. There's no pics of me driving, just the back of the car that's registered to me making the turn. They gonna ticket the car or suspend its license? There's also questions about chain of custody and constitutional issues. There are several judges that have thrown the tickets out as unconstitutional, but the cities don't care. They make a ton of money off people that just send in their $158 blackmail payment, bend over and take it, and say "Thank you sir, may I have another?".
These red light cameras do nothing to curb accidents, they simply make money for the cities. They set the time of the yellow light to the bare minimum allowed by the DOT, usually 4.3 seconds, even if its a big intersection where they used to give 6 or more seconds.
Last year the city of West Palm Beach sent me a ticket for turning right on a red light over there. I live on the other side of the state. Again, it was a car registered to me, but I wasn't driving, and they had nothing showing it was me. I sent a lawyer over there $75, which was cheaper than driving over there for court, and they got it dismissed.
Do I condone running red lights? Of course not. But I refuse to be blackmailed into paying a "fee" to avoid a ticket. I won't give the city and some company out in Arizona (the ones who get the pics and videos and send you the blackmail letter) my hard earned money without at least trying to stand up for myself. I'm going to make them prove it was me driving. I don't have to give any explanation.
