For those of yall that jog/run/power walk...how many minutes per mile are yall doing.
Right now I am doing 5 miles in 80 minutes. Doing that at least 5 days a week. I walk till I get loosened up, jog till I am tired, and walk till I am rested, jog, walk, repeat. I do not stop and take any breaks along the way unless I cramp up.
That equates to a 16 minute mile. Trying to see if that is average for the 40 and over weight club

I'm 33, 6'2 and 200lbs. Been running regular since I was 18.
I do an 8 min-9 min mile for 3-4 miles as an average, medium paced by myself run, 5 days a week unless I get really lazy. Faster if I'm in group. Everynow and then I get stupid and go for distance but I get bored so I keep it short usually.
The fact that you are even out pounding the pavement is great. If you are taking walking breaks that'll really add up your overall time so I'd say you are probably doing pretty good at 16 minute miles. Because you are doing in excess of 20-30 minutes is the real good thing though. That's when you really kick it into fat-burn mode so good choice there. Have you tried doing a mile at your normal pace and seeing what it comes up too?
The new phone apps make it nice becuase you can run "x" distance, get your split time, walk a known distance, and then when you are ready pick right back up and do "x" distance again with immediate accurate knowledge of all your times and distances. No guessing and estimating. You know what your pace is.
I am good for a 10 minute mile but I get bored of long distance running so I try and mix it up. I do 10 minutes running, 10 minutes on a bike and 10 minutes on an elliptical when I am in the gym, which is once a week at this point.
My problem is, I'll do a 4x8x3....4 miles at an 8 min pace and drink 3 beers per mile when I'm done......LOL
I only run when I have to.....and now that I'm older and wiser, that's not too often 🙂
