The other white meat!
I hear ya on the heat. It has been miserable last few days. My next trip up is stand and feeder placing. My buddy that joined the lease with me is an old dude that is about broke down, so you see how this is going to go... :crip
I was thinking about holding off till August for this, my fingers are crossed my batteries in the cameras last that long. How early do you hang yours?
As far as cameras:
I am getting tremendous battery life out of my cams. Only need to replace batteries once a year or so. If I am in a lease I am going to be in long term I like to run cams all year. The lease I just got out of, I didn't trust anything left out.
My Moultrie M80, I put batteries in it last fall, pulled the camera in January, had it in my back yard for a while, then facing my hog trap for 4 months. The batteries finally died last week
As far as stands:
I like to have them up by end of May in a perfect world. Obviously couldn't do it this year. It should go pretty easy putting them up this time. One spot is going to be a ground blind (no trees around), other will be a 2-man ladder stand that I can drive my truck right up to it. Third spot will be worst to do as I am seriously thinking about hanging my Gorilla lock-on in a big ole massive live oak with a crotch in it about 20' up.
Getting the 2-man up is priority because I want to be able to hog hunt out of it this summer
I picked up a couple of the new M80's, I hope I get the same results on battery life.
