I'd sure minimize the number of times I had to invite them for anything.
I've already done that. And I'll tell ya, it sure does minimize the stress.
In Miami we used to call that "Cuban Time" You have "on time" , My time and Cuban time. that means they show up when they get there. Yeah my wife's mom has always liked to make the GRAND ENTRANCE. USED TO DRIVE ME CRAZY!!
I agree with all these complaints and solutions.
When I was pastoring, I had a couple from outside our church ask me to marry them. They wanted my sincerest promise that all would start on time and finish on time, etc., etc. They kept stressing out over timing.
They scheduled the wedding for 11AM; when did the bride show??? How's 11:50 sound to you? No call or anything. Father and groom couldn't get her on the phone to see what's what. We even got a call from the function hall because dinner was to be served at 12 noon and no one had arrived, yet. DJ was there and ready to roll. Several guests actually left the church. Some guests wanted someone (me) to 'go find her'!!!
When the bride finally arrived, she laughingly said she just wanted more pics of her and 'the girls' getting ready. The photographer later told me she was the classic 'bridezilla' with demand after demand for pics and that nothing he did was 'done right' for her!
(I'm glad I won't be doing her funeral- she'd be late for that, too, I'll bet!)
