I went to bid on another big job from the same company. When i walked into the office every single person was clean shave. The owner and every employee. Went to the job site, same thing. I bid on another today. No beard. Actually low cut and edged nicely.
When you need the business or the money you have to be ready for whatever you walk into and hope that you are welcomed with a positive reception, that will keep the forward momentum going. I guess you never know what potential client you are going to face next....remember even though you do flooring work upon your first contact you are a salesman...like it or not.
+1. You never get a second chance to make a first impression. a professional appearance could never hurt. I know I've turned people away without letting them in my home simply because of the way they looked, smelled, dressed or acted. if you appear dirty/unkempt, is that the kind of work I'll get? if they smell like weed or alcohol, no thanks. arrogant & an attitude- no thanks I have my own. my house my rules.
"There are two kinds of people with out beards. Women, and children. I am neither"
I landed a monster contract this morning. Bearded....
