Thanks, for the info...I am off 231/John Pitts RD, non St Jo land but it is the same as you describe. They are actively cutting in the 40,000 acres now but not in our section. I wish they would come in and cut! I don't want to kill them there deer and hogs eat the berries? but the yard in Destin might be nice.

You know you can sell those berries. Might pay for some of your lease. I use to run picking crews for the largest supplier of palmetto berries in the country. We would lease ranches and take crews in there to pick, then pay the owner a percentage of each pound. Not only did he make some money, but once those rogue pickers saw all the stalks cut off they usually would stay out. Just an option. The berries fell off a long time ago down here so usually the wholesalers will start moving north, might be one in your area.

That sounds a lot better than spraying them. I would always pick the choice of making easy $ while not impacting my hunting grounds. No only that but it leaves more cover and browse for the wildlife. The blocks of woods they collect pine straw in here hardly grow anything besides pines and surely don't benefit the deer.
