well broke the diet way back or you might say changed it from weight lost to building. Was to weak lack of stamina. I need to be able to carry 20 lbs in my pack for a 3 mile hike by September. This morning i did about 2 miles through the swamp without the pack. Man the boots felt like weights by the time i made it out.
Three miles on the pavement is a breeze compared to the swamp. Found a scrap but no new rubs yet.

I agree. Ill trade a walk in the woods for a day at the gym anyday.

Put it this way...if it came down to a bar fight, I would want the corn fed farm boy who tosses hay bales all day on my side, over the gym rat

I think seriously that is the reason I am not losing more weight than I am, I am adding muscle. I am averaging 10 miles+ a weekend walking, plus mountain biking

I worked 7+ hours in the yard today and am more sore than when I was going to the gym

This happens to me as well when I start to workout. I can only tell by inches coming off the waist because after 10 to 12 pounds of lost weight, I will start to put it back on again in muscle.

Well, still losing bit by bit. Trying to weigh once a week in the morning so I'm not seeing big fluctuations. I'm down to 346lb, so another 4 pounds since last week. Almost Any weight lost in last 3 weeks or so is due to changing diet and eating habits. Haven't really increased activity enough to make a difference, especially after not doing much for a week after a small accident.

Monday will be 2 weeks ago I went to take a shower before dressing for work. Turned water on and stepped into tub, not noticing my wife had removed the rubber mat from the tub. My foot slipped out from under me as I twisted trying to find something to grab. The plastic towel rod between the two ceramic holders did little to break my fall. Neither did the act of striking my forehead on one of the ceramic towel rod holders on the way down. Blood was on the floor from the gash in my head before I was. I also pulled my hamstring in my right leg and put a knot on the side of my left leg where it struck the toilet rim. As I lay naked on the bathroom floor, pressing a towel against my forehead to stop the blood flow, my wife came running up the stairs yelling,"Be careful! I haven't put bath mat back into the tub!". I thanked her in colorful language for the warning. Luckily a few minutes of pressure stopped the bleeding, and I didn't require stitches. The hamstring pull bothered me for about 4 days until I could get in to my chiropractor and he stretched and massaged out the sore spot. Before that I couldn't walk more than a few steps before it would tighten up and make me limp. That night I took the dog on a 1-mile walk.

Anyway, that's my "Health Update" as I attempt to lose some weight and get my overall health back in shape. Hope everyone else is doing better!

Had my follow-up with Dr yesterday. Last week I did blood work and 2hr glucose test.

My cholesterol came down from 280ish to 200
Triglycerides came down from 700ish to 400
Bp was down a few points
Officially lost 10 pounds

Fasting sugar was 101, better than last visit

My 2hr glucose (after drinking that nasty orange syrup) was a little high @189.

Making progress, but got a ways to go yet.
Still labeled as pre-diabetic and metabolic syndrome
