Dam 225 would be nice. I just have ass big beer belly.
Went to dentist this morning who is a certified sleep disorder specialist, and went through an eval for sleep apnea. Pretty much know I have it, and have had it for many years, even when I was around 200lbs back in my Air Force days. Answered some questions and did a test to see how a dental appliance might help keep my airway open, and it did look like they could help me. So they gave me a sleep monitor to bring home, and tonight I'll get all hooked up and let it record how many times I quit breathing, wake up, etc. I'll return the device tomorrow and then in about 10 days they'll get the results from a sleep lab and tell me my options. I'm hoping the dental appliance will work enough to get me sleeping better, I don't want to go the C-Pap route if I can help it. Whatever I need to do though, I'll do so I don't feel tired all the time. Once the sleep thing is fixed, next will be the testosterone test. Gonna maximize my chances to increase metabolism and energy levels so I can lose weight and keep it off.
the obstructive sleep apnea is the most dangerous. if you stop breathing in your sleep and wake up gasping for air you have a real problem. I was first diagnosed in 97 and it explained why I was always falling asleep at work, school, driving etc., but it never realy goes away you just learn more about it and c-paps, bi-paps and some devices do give you a better quality sleep, but when your body needs sleep it will just shut down whenever/wherever. as for a do it at home test I wouldn't recomend it, there are too many things that need to be observed/measured that they just can't do at home. I get a test about every 3 years and the best ones I've had were done at hospitals. a lot depends on who is reading the study also. the best pulmonologist I've been to so far is Jose Pasqual from bayonet hospital in Hudson fl, not sure if he is assoc with any hospitals/clinics closer to you. a dentist may be able to fit you with a device but the study should be read/interpreted by a pulmonologist. the best sleep I get is outdoors on the ground or in a treestand without any device, such a deep sleep it's sometimes hard to force yourself to wake up. the test results can be shocking and hard to believe like how low your o2 levels drop and how many times you wake up in an hour. good luck. I gotta make another appt for one soon.
I camped with a guy a couple times who had sleep apnea bad. I have never seen anything like it. First time we were camping in Croom. I got up out of my own camper after about 3 hours and slept in my truck. He was snoring and snorting and gasping so loud he woke the entire camp site up.
Second time, was a fishing trip in the Glades. I heard this gosh awful noise and got up to find him sitting upright on the side of his bed with the c pap machine going, he had a towel on his head and snoring into the machine like a chain saw.
I told him to give me his address cause I was sending his wife flowers, having to deal with that every night
i had that when i was heavier.. i would stop breathing while i was sleeping.. but now i start to think it was the ex wife putting a pillow over my head.. lol.. JK.
