I need 2 large camphors removed and stumps ground. the big 1, 3 people may not be able to get their arms around app 40' tall. 1 long 12" diam holly branch, a large 14"app live oak and a few smaller cut and hauled. too big and too high for me alone anymore. someone will need to climb and tie them off before cutting. licensed and insured only. backyard gate is 4' +/-. figured I'd offer the work to members first, and want it done before rain/hurricane season. thanks

In all honesty,
I would call about 5 companies and get estimates. Make sure you are there when they come and ask a lot of questions. At my old house I had a major trim like that and you would be surprised at the differences in ideas (and price) you will get
Make sure they are lic/insured and are a certified arborist

As others have already replied...

1. Get as many estimates as possible. Minimum 3. I got 6 quotes for something similar last year and the estimates ranged from $3,200 to $6,900.

2. Make sure they are licensed and insured.

3. Mare sure they are certified arborist and not just a wood chopper.

4. Put everything you want done on the paper. Don't assume anything.

5. If you want to keep some logs for firewood make sure they know in advance and put it on the paper.
