My best friend(who is more like the brother I never had) was in a pretty serious accident a week ago up in Tennessee where he and his family live. He had just got this suburban only a few weeks back. I feel bad because he has 6 kids, and they finally had a dependable vehicle they could all fit and ride in.
He was coming home from work and swerved to miss a deer. His tire dropped off on the shoulder and it sent him into a roll over. He ended up with 5 broken ribs, a punctured lung which collapsed. He was very lucky. Its almost like he and his family has had a black cloud. His wife 3 years ago was diagnosed with stge 3 Hodgkins Lymphoma... and beat it
Surprisingly the vehicle wasn't worse off than it is. He told me he is going to fix it himself
Glad he got off as lucky as he did.
I was just recently reading that in Germany it's illegal to swerve to avoid an animal just because of wrecks like that. Dunno if we have the same law in any states here.
sorry for your bud. I won't swerve for smaller animals unless I have PLENTY of room, hit 3 possums in 1 month last year, only 3 ever. a bigger deer/hog/bear/moose I think I'd swerve for sure, unless another car was coming head on.
Wow that's a lot of work to do by his self. Looks like the door post needs to be pulled out. Gonna be hard to pull that correctly where the doors shut properly without using a frame rack.
He is definitely going to be sore with those ribs. Glad he is ok though.
Wow. Glad he is ok!!
