Folks, this is some bad stuff. I have to add this to my list of things I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Scary part is there is no known cause or cure
I went to visit my hunt lease manager today. I knew he had fallen ill a year or so ago, but had no idea it was this bad. I last saw him in August and he was using a walker then ( he had not officially been diagnosed then). I heard towards the end of hunting season he might have LGD.
He went from 2 years ago helping me move tree stands, to now in his final stages. He can no longer get up or go to bathroom unassisted. He said he notices every week he gets a little worse off, and is almost to the point of not being able to feed himself.
What he said next was a kick square to the nuts. He said unfortunately his heart and lungs are good, so he can't have a heart attack and just end it. He said the worst part for him is the burden it's putting on his wife, and he just wanted to die and get out of his misery
That's the second time I have heard someone say they want to die, and it is hard to hear. I walked out of there ( I picked his hand up to shake it) and we both knew that's the last time we'll see each other again, till we meet again.
My aunt had als.she was lucky and she died with in 2 years.
