your cousins friend isn't gonna be able to take the class for you, or get fingerprinted/pictured. thats the biggest part of it. when you get printed get the electronic ones it's a little more $ but is easier for leos and faster to process electronicaly for them. passport photo from walgreens. get the app from the PD, fill it out and have the app, prints/pics complete, take the class and mail it all to Tally and wait 2-4 wks depending. never had ANY actual gun shooting in my class just legal and common sense stuff similar to hunter safety but geared towards concealed carry. I say diy for about 1/2$. realize conceal carry is a BIG responsability and don't even think about touching a drop of alcohol while carrying (even if gun is in your glovebox) and remember concealed is no BS, no showing off or bragging about it and nobody should ever know you are packing.
The application fee is $117.You have to mail that amount into DACS with your packet. There are a few offices you can go to and they do everything at one time. I think Goodoyster went to one of them
