when in my late 20's having nobody around me that hunted to teach me. me and a buddy hooked up with a group of "seniors" that had hunted together for like 30+ yrs, they took us under their wing, let us drag for them in exchange for the schooling. what a great group of guys, each one had his specialty and between them there was nothing they couldn't do. one was a butcher, one a great cook, one mechanic, electrician, plumber etc. unfortunately time got to them and each year it seemed another would pass away until now all are gone.hopefully this site can help stir up interest in the sport and help other newbies the way I was helped. sorry for your loss.

Thanks all,it really wasn't a loss for me but more for his family. I went to his sons house afterwards and hung out with a bunch of old friends I grew up with and drank some beer with them and the old hunting stories started flowing. Sad thing is,I haven't talked with some of these guys since the last funeral we attended.

Lost my Dad in '84 and my son in '87, now I do this for them and me, I am not going to miss what they unfortunately did.
