tubs are easy, especially cast iron, just throw a heavy blanket over them and blast them with a sledge hammer. they come out in small manageable pieces, and its fun.
The sledgehammer is a good idea, but we were trying to keep it in one piece until some rich yuppie decides they want it for a few hundred $$$. Then, I'll dig it up and hose it off.
we had an old one sitting in front of our shop for probably more than 30 years and last year some a-hole scrap guy decided he wanted it, dumped all the dirt and flowers out that my boss' mother had planted in there and took it to the scrap yard. we found it at the scrap yard, unfortunately it was in pieces. we know who took it, and he gets run off every time he comes by. he has a bad rep, even in that circle. he probably only got 10 bucks for it, if that.
