Got the generator, plenty of ammo, and gas cans. I just start rotating the gas cans into the truck every other week and refill starting in June. Bottled water propane, several quarts of oil for the generator, and a window AC unit. Charlie beat us up pretty bad. Broke half our trusses and removed most of the shingles, separated the solid lentil from the top row of block. Were w/o pwr for 8 days, but the generator saved us (after I found one at home depot). If you're prepared, you shouldn't have to worry. I have storm panels for the windows, and we just hunker down, drink beer, and play cards till it's over.

Charlie sucked, I didnt have power for weeks. And a window shaker was a life saver after a long day working in the sun.

Man has it already been that long ago? After giving it some thought my 7 yr old twins were in diapers, less than a yr old during storms.I remember them in the crib with fans blowing to keep them cool. I did have a generator,it kept my radio battery charged, freezer and fridge cold, and t.v. working. I drove by the community center to get some ice and there was 2 piles of 8' hi melting away. I went and took some and then they asked how many in my family,I got enough mre's to last a long time. That is the only time I ever took anything from our government.
