The law is for public land, while hunting deer (500 sq in). So archery, small game, turkey, etc on public land its not required. Not required at all on private land, which I think is ridiculous.
Just1more, Good luck on your new club, if it was closer I would be there with you...unless you want to adopt me and put a travel traier on the lease!
I'll have 2 travel trailers on the lease .. one for me and a couple friends which is a 34' Coachman and the other is an old 24' somethingoranother ... like a "camp house" trailer for anyone that wants to stay in it. Couple guys say they are going t ofix it up and make it nicer for the next year
damn, where is your lease?? and the cost??
yes there is a higher number of hunters on public/wma land than private/leased, but I believe laws are more enforced on public land and you get a lot more drunk/crazies driving around shooting from truck beds on private/leased land day and night than public areas. if there were equal #'s of hunters on public vs private I doubt private would be much if any safer.
don't understand how this stuff happens. basic hunter's safety. don't shoot until you indentify your target AND WHAT IS BEYOND your target. just pure stupidity. guess Ron White is right " can't fix stupid" . Excitement or adrenaline is no excuse. Safety should be #1. We as hunters should be watching out for each other. Communication and a game plan is paramount. Have hunted with a couple people from here, on public land, and always have a plan for when circleing oak hammocks or palmetto heads, so nobody gets shot. Common sense stuff.
