A buddy just bought a boat.
The boat is in Ft. Myers but he's in Ft. Lauderdale.
He wants to bring it over by water.
Has anyone crossed the state this way?
Any idea how long it would take?
How big of boat? What kind of draft? Flats boat can come south to Everglades city and take the wilderness waterway or the outside to flamingo then shoot across to key largo and up the coast to ft Lauderdale. Not sure about a northern route. Bigger boat can take the outside south and cut across to key largo and finish the same way. Probably want to spend the night in key largo. Not sure of the time really. Just a weekend trip though with some fishing thrown in.
It's a 43' trawler, not sure of the draft.
Waterway is out.
The people he bought it from claim to have made the trip before, claimed they had to go through some locks and across Lake O, but said they were stopping at every little town along the way so it took them 3 days!
