Well my girl said she's been smelling a bad Coolant smell in her car. So we just let it go for about 2 months. Then last week she says she saw smoke coming out of the vents while the ac was on. Hmmm. So last night were walking up to her car and see a huge puddle of coolant under the car. I look under the car and it was dripping from where under the seat would be. So the dam heater core blew up and coolant poured into the truck and under the carpet. What a major P I A. It was to change. Well the darn thing only cost 75 bucks new but to put it in.,.. If I would of went to a shop they were gonna charge me a day and a half, that's like over a thousand maybe ?? At 85 an hour.
So me and my girl decided to take a day off work and try it. Well luckily there was a YouTube vid of the exactly process down to the last bolt. It took us 4 hours and a 12 pack to get it done. Nonstop no breaks. If it wasn't for that YouTube vid I would of never gotten that dam thing apart. I mean there's bolts in placed I would of never found..
And we had to drain the ac and refill it. That a friend did but it was still a pain under the butt!!

I would get to that point and be stuck right there.
My wifes went out last week. I bypassed it instead of replacing. Saves a lot of headaches and $$$. Once I learned that the dash had to come off, I said, frigg it, this is Florida, don't need the heat.
oh man, I think that my core is bout to go out on my dodge and frig it I hate to think of having to do that.
man i never thought of bypassing it. good idea.. But knowing my girl she whould want it working.. She puts the heat on in the camper in hunt camp in the summer sometimes.. lol
