don't forget these quality gun safes will also protect those priceless firearms incase of a fire, a gun cabinet or locker won't. Its not just about theft protection.

tractor supply has cannon's entry level ones, 48 gun standard is like 1050 and the 48 gun tall boy is like 1300
I have the cannon 24 safari and its decent for the 500 price tag, but there is much nicer ones out there.. all depends on budgets.

What ever you get, get the biggest one you can afford.
I got my first safe 25+ years ago from Service Merchandise. I got one that I thought would be large enough for rest of my life.
About 10 years later I got second one from Outdoor World/Bass Pro that was even larger. I thought two safe would be enough for rest of my life.
About 3 years ago I got my third safe from Outdoor World/Bass Pro and I figured three should be enough for rest of my life.
So far 3 safe is enough but I don't know if it will be enough for the future.

Make sure to get one that offers fire protection. I also like electronic locks for faster/easier access.
Bolt them into the ground so they can not be layed on the side where it is easier to open them.
Think about where to place the safe now and give it a lot of thought. They are heavy and moving them around is not easy.

Finally don't depend on safe alone to keep thives out... have a back up plan like house alarm system.
I keep all three safe in one room and we have three separate alarm system... one for the whole house which is monitored through the telephone line, second one for just few critical point in the house including the room with the safe that monitored by cellular system and one final ditch system for the room with safe that is not monitored but has a siren pointed out to the street. I know it takes about 4 to 7 minutes for the police to arrive once the alarm goes off so I just need too keep them from opening the safe for that long.

Well I sealed to deal yesterday, I got the Winchester Big Daddy. I got it at Harry Beckwith's and it was by far the best deal. I paid $1,300 delivered and bolted down. Same safe at Gander Mountain was $2,100 you pick it up and install it your self. I did my home work and didn't buy the first thing that came around and was very eduacated of safes. as far as what to look for and what to ask someone when looking for safes.
