OK fellow gun owners, I need some help spending some money. I'm going to buy a gun safe and was wanting to get everyones opinion. What is the best safe for the money? I'm looking to get a 30-40 gun safe, and don't want to break the bank, yet keep the thief from carrying it out and getting my weapons.

I just bought another Liberty Fat Boy Jr and am very happy with it. It claims to be a 48 gun safe but in reality you will only get about 35 guns in it. Gander Mountain had it on sale just recently for $1200.
With something that big, you might be better off building something within your house. A hall closet or something and reinforcing it. I've got a closet under my stairs I always wanted to make into a gun safe....if I still had any guns

spending big money on a big/heavy/quality safe is nice, and I would love one, but if a theif has a gun to a loved ones head you are gonna open it. also, not meaning to sound too obvious, don't leave the keys/combo too easy to find. like il2h said you can build around a 100$ locker and make it extremely difficult and time consuming to get it out of place or open. that's what I use and it holds maybe 15 rifles and 9 pistols or so. I'd hate to have one of those big boys and then decide you want it on the other side of the room, or God forbid decide to move.
