Do you happen to have a smart phone? There's lots of apps that will work great for on-the-road navigation. Don't know if I'd trust for all-day in the woods due to battery life.

I have a DeLorme PN-30, bought it because it comes with the topo maps and you don't have to pay extra for them. Only had it for a couple of weeks but so far so good.
never had one of these gps gizmos how close can they bring you back to a stored way point? bring you back to the exact tree where your stand is or just the general area? if you know how to read a usgs map they are a wealth of info about terrain but down here being so flat the contour lines are like an inch apart and not as usefull.
