I dont have any kids yet, and it is not looking like i will, so the circle of life is going to be a little different for me unless i adopt after marriage. I have been taking care of my grampa since 07, making sure he gets washed and gets breakfast and getting him to bed and such. My mom comes over to give her dad dinner and spend a couple hours with him every day. It has been harder the last 2 yrs, and the last 10 months or so have been taxing on my back especially. Mentally i am very strong, and up to the task of making sure my grampa is taken care of till his dying day if necessary. Financially this has been a little more difficult as my family as a whole especially my parents took on a huge task of repairing my grandfathers properties, and i myself have not "worked". I thank ya'll very much for your support, sometimes it is just easier for me to let out a little stress by writing it down.

The first pick of my grampa is in late 10, or early 11...the second pick is back in 05 or 06.

Its hard i know i went through it, Allen is going through it for the second time and there are plenty more.. Just enjoy a person while they are still here the good and bad.

The catheter thing not that big a deal for me, i have been thinking about taking a class to learn how to do it for him under these circumstances, and after caring for him so long am considering going back to school for nursing or gerontology. Sometimes as i am sure you all know it is hard to watch especially with hs dementia.

I feel for ya bro. I went through something very similar with my grandfather a few years back. I was on my own with it due to my closest family being 2000+ miles away. I can't imagine doing it without some kind of professional care to help. Listen to these guys on getting a little help. It will make a world of difference. Good luck.
