Several people on here have asked me what my little property is like.
Well, it's just a little 12 acre property in Hendry county near Clewiston.
Last night I found these pictures from the time we first got the place.
This is 1.2 mile dirt road that leads to the property (view from my truck)
This is the front property facing the road.
This is the road that leads to my neighbor.
End of the road you see is the edge of my property
This is the dirt road that leads to our camp site
The flat clearing is where we built our camp. It can't be seen from the road.
Camp is nothing more than a 16' camper we bring and two 12'x12' shelter with
mesquito netting for kitchen/eating and lounging.
We also have a little tarp shelter for showering and bathroom.
This is the clearing near the drainage ditch in the back. It's where my first pig was shot.
This is another clearing near the camp. It’s where we have our vegetable garden and our shooting range.
The range started as 50 yard range with 6' berm but it has grown to 110 yard range with 8' berm.
This is my primary lookout. I call it my tree stand but it’s actually just a ladder that I put and tie up to this tree.
Sitting on top of the ladder I’m about 14’ above ground and I can see everything around.
It was from this tree that I took my first shot at a pig.
So that’s my little property where we spend about 5 days a month.
Not much of a property but it serves our purpose.
Very nice getaway! Awesome, beats a WMA!
Looks like a great place! Plenty of cover, used to love to hunt big ol' palmetto patches when we lived in Orange County years ago! It doesn't take a big place to have a sucessful hunt, especially if you side up to an orange grove. Deer love orange trees. I remember seeing a large grove on the old Magnolia Ranch in Orange County back in the late 1960's that looked as if the bottom sides of the trees had been pruned up maybe 6 or 7 feet from the ground. They had to high fence it to protect the trees. It looks like you have some good pines for ladder stands or even climbers. The pictures are great, maybe after you establish a feeding station you will have critter pictures to share. Treefarmer
looks good I need to find me a place like that too.
Looks perfect to me sir.
