hey tim, if you call chuck or sue, they will give the route they take to 95, its really quick and easy. chuck could tell you where to fill up and all. unless they are bitter. haha.
I don't have any driving directions for you since I always head that way from P/Cola. And somehow I don't think my route would work for you.
But, on a side note, I was stationed in VA from 2002-2006 and am headed back that way in July. If your son likes to hunt, tell him the check out Fort A.P. Hill by Fredricksburg. That isn't too far from the Langley area. It's something like 200,000 acres and it is crawling with both deer and turkeys. I used to hunt it and did well.
He should also check into hunting the Chincoteaque Island National Wildlife Refuge. They have hunts for free ranging Japanese Sika deer on the refuge. Neat hunt for something a little different if he can get the permit. They issue permits on a drawing system. If you get it, you can take 5 Sika of either sex. Even if you don't draw, they have a lot of no-shows and issue the unclaimed permits on a first come basis.
Cheers

Made it on my own. :toast Took the 301 made good time about 12 and a 1/2 hours.
Glad to hear it went well. :toast
Was stationed out of Ft. Meade for 6 years. I've always taken the I-4 to 95 route up that way. There used to be some good hunting around Ft. Meade too, but I'm not sure what they did with that area of the property, since it's not part of the base/post anymore. I know Columbia, MD was chock full of deer, and you could get permits to archery hunt in the developments back then. Your son will like Langley. He'll just want to keep his distance from the Christians In Action.
