Due to a life time of wear and tear, I am going to look at using a cross bow this coming season.
Anybody got any suggestions about a brand/model. This is a totally new area to me and some of the prices I'm seeing on-line are way out of my price range. I'm hoping to find one somewhere around $300 from a company with good customer service.
Also I would prefer to purchase from a local guy so I got somebody to set it up at the time of purchase. I live in Jacksonville so if you've been happy with any local merchants I appreciate knowing that.

If your wanting a quality crossbow at a fair price barnett is your best bet. A florida company and have heard nothing but raving things about them. I started out with a a $150 Barnett and killed several deer with it. Now I have a Barnett preditor with nothing but good things about it. So you can find a Barnett in your price range and will have a quality crossbow.

Barnett is the only way to go for a Florida resident. Their factory is in Tarpon Springs and they will pretty much fix anything for a basic service charge of like $39.
