Yea the pay with FLDOF isnt that great at all. I dont know if i could work for the FWC though. Im pretty sick of putting up game wardens :crap: in the woods so i dont know about all that.
FLDOF does the fire stuff, puts in trails/roads, put in food plots and maintain all the other things in the woods. FWC is more law enforcement responsibilities

I talked to one of the DOF guys at Myakka, he said he really enjoys most aspects of his job, but as mentioned, the pay isn't that great. He said something along the lines of "I'm in it for the 20 years and out with pension and benefits." As they say though, money doesn't buy happiness, just makes a nice down-payment. Different strokes for different folks.
Yea you get lots of benefits from working for the state. That is one of the reasons im still looking into going into the DOF. Yea they pay might not be awesome, but full healthcare including dental sounds pretty nice :toast
