You need a water proof phone. My brother was going through phones every come of months from dropping them off ladders to washing them. He bought a Casio construction style phone and he has dropped it off 20" ladders into buckets of water and beat the crap out of it but it is still going. Here is a list of a couple that might work for you Samsung a837 Rugby, Casio G'zOne, and Motorola Barrage.
The biggest ripoff abt phone insurances is they give you a refurbished phone. Even though you pay almost as much as a new one would cost you. I went through a dozen and finally just bought an iphone its been going strong for 3yrs. But i'm ready for the new one to come out!
Cancel the insurance, take the amount you would have to pay as a copay and put it in a jar. Then add $7/month to that same jar. It won't take long before you have enough in that jar for a new phone. The gamble is that you hope nothing happens to the phone before you have enough to replace it. BUT, if you end up with enough in the jar to replace the phone....then from that point on you're saving money.
