you can get wrist band/immobilizers at walgreens that help alot, especialy at night ( I'm supposed to wear them 24/7 ) but it is realy difficult to have much dexterity or do much while wearing them. Carlos that 44 mag snubby aint gonna help at all, sorry. surgeons tell me if I get the neck fused the carpal tunnel will heal. not wild about that at 60,000$ besides the risks. but would like to get full use of hands/wrists again.
My wife had the Ct surgery a few years ago. They did one hand, and 6 weeks later they did the other. Hers was so bad she couldn't hold a pencil. Shes on a computer all day and it has not returned at all
CT surgeons won't do it til I have the neck fixed first. they say if I do the neck theres a good chance I won't need to do the wrists.
See if you can find a chiropractor or massage therapist who knows ART (Active Release Techniques). It is supposed to be very helpful in some cases of carpal tunnel and other repetitive stress injuries. Check here to see if one is nearby: http://www.activerelease.com/providerSearch.asp
My mother had it to from driving a school bus for 29 years, 6-10 hours a day. She had the surgery about 3 years ago, they did one hand and 6 weeks later the other hand.. She was 62 and her hands work fine, no pain and she's 65 now...
