a serious sinus infection is tough to get rid of as there ore only a couple of meds that can penetrate into the sinuses: Augmentin an antibiotic and Bactrim a sulfa based drug (and you need to be on them at least 2-3 weeks maybe more) that they used before atb's were invented. best way is to have a culture and sensitivity done on a speciman and it will tell you the exact bug you have and which med will work best against it, but doc's usualy won't do it until after the 3rd office visit or so. the test is a little pricey and takes 3-5 days. when the doc's prescribe ATB's without a C&S they are just guessing at what will most likely work/or has worked for most people, most times they get lucky, sounds like they didn't with you.
A few years ago I had a double ear infection, a sinus infection, and strep throat at the same time. I ended up on Augmentin (I think 1000mg) for almost a month plus prednisone to get rid of it. I very rarely had ear infections as a kid, and thats only one as an adult. I've had a ringing in my ears since then
the antibiotics could very well be what caused the ringing in the ears. back in the 80's the way to tell when certain ATB's were at the correct level was when the ears started ringing, but no more.
they say it is acute bronchitis whatever that is and nowvbloodpressure a lil high to boot.....
LH, if they put you on an inhaler and/or prednisone it could jack up your b/p, just take ir easy, plenty of hot fluids and let it run it's course. if you have insurance insist on a culture and sensitivity and get to the bottom of what you realy have, but you could be over it by the time you get the results back. no temps over 101?
