What happened to the "plan" that was to be implemented several years ago? If ya'll remember, everybody realized what a benifit controlled burning was in the prevention of wildfire. Many years ago when the woods were burned on a regular basis for the woods cattle we didn't have fires of this magnitude. Deer and turkey would be out on the burns in just a few days and there were very few misinformed treehuggers worried about burning up the world. Controlled burns are a wonderful tool and it must be used regularly to insure that wild fires have no place to go.
You said it: "...there were very few misinformed treehuggers..." and those few found a few gullible politicians and 'misinformed' them into passing policies that make no sense! If the People for Florida don't watch carefully, they could go the way of Massachusetts- now there's a scary thought!!!
