Officials reopened Interstate 95 and U.S. Highway 1 and revealed that the 10,000-acre wildfire consumed a mobile home and two hunting camps. (From the Orlando paper)
Hope no one on here was affected.

Well, then I'm REALLY glad I didn't get in that club last year like I was going to. Proves that things happen for a reason.

What happened to the "plan" that was to be implemented several years ago? If ya'll remember, everybody realized what a benifit controlled burning was in the prevention of wildfire. Many years ago when the woods were burned on a regular basis for the woods cattle we didn't have fires of this magnitude. Deer and turkey would be out on the burns in just a few days and there were very few misinformed treehuggers worried about burning up the world. Controled burns are a wonderful tool and it must be used regularly to insure that wild fires have no place to go.
