Only time I ever feel like I am going to get blisters is when I get wet feet. (not an issue in this drought lately). How the guys in So Fla hunt in that water and not have jungle rot is beyond me

Good merino wool socks to wick moisture away is key. Also I keep a pair of flip flops in the truck and get out of my boots when I get back to the truck. I haven't had a bad blister in a long time thank goodness..

yeah, like I usualy do I was wearing a very light wt high wicking liner sock with a wool/polyprop blend sock over it, never a problem before and they weren't buched up or anything. had the same sock/boot combo and did the same walk twice before in the same week without a hitch and sat had problems right from the git-go, even stopped and iced/aired out changed socks and boots, put on moleskins a little later, no help. I guess the smart thing would have been to just stop walking as soon as you know you have a problem.

I always buy a larger size boot for wearing heavy wool socks in the cold, in the heat I put in a gel insole for the heel and move to set of under armor heat gear boot socks. The boots always fit a little tight when I first put them on but after walking around the fit is perfect. My feet never slide and I really like the heat gear socks. Even when I have gotten moisture inside the boot (damn snake boots) the socks never make my feet feel wet.

We hunt barefooted or in Croc's!
