As the season grows old

As the season is comming to a close and I've just got back able to go back hunting since my surgery. The ole fishing trip that went bad left me unable to use my arm. I have not been able to hold any weight and there was no way that I could have cleaned anything. Sure I could have shot off the arm and made a one hand shot but loading it or even thinking of pulling the hide off something that i had shot was out of the question. I started back to trying to hunt around the first of the year and have only been able to hunt on the weekends. So missing almost two months of hunting I have falling way behind on the hunting thing. The club that I got into this year has a buck restriction on only two buck a year and a doe with a tag. The club that I am in is broken up into several blocks and you have to sign out each block before each hunt. Once you have signed out into that block no one else can come into that block and you don't have to worry about anyone comming around where your hunting. Of course once you have signed out into that block you can't hunt any other block like no shooting across the boundry line of each block. Saturday I had hunted a block and was on the way back to the truck. I had parked in one place and walked about 1/2 mile down the road before going into the woods to my stand. On the way back I spied a doe in the block next to the block that I was hunting in, and at the same time I headr something behind me only to turn aroound and see the club vice president. I wave to him to stop and turned back to look at the doe and low and behold The doe is running towards me and there was other deer. They were in a block that had been cut last summer so it was fairly open. As the came closer I noticed that there was 3 does and 2 bucks. They come within 50 yards and turn to run off. Dang it man! 2 bucks 50 yards and a clear shot. One of them could have easly have been mine filling my buck tags and closing the season by filling my buck tags and letting my daughter kill the doe. One weekend left and it'll be all over.
