really testing the gray matter but i think Lovett Williams was from Fish Eating Creek near the Everglades and wrote about it often, and turkey hunting.

There's a book about Totch Brown, I think it's called "My Life In The Everglades". Great read!

"If Nothin Don't Happen" is always one of my favorites. Its about life in the Gulf Hammock area back in the early 1900's.
