2004 crown vic police intercepter v8. took thru the fields this am at dark thirty to bury some stinkcorn-n hog wild and later got caught in that pm wicked down pour and stalled out in deep water. air filter soaked, dried out after a while & re-started but def soaked up some h2o and making horrible sounds. removed air filter and vacumed out air line with shop vac, used leaf blower to dry engine as able, wd-40 on anything looking electrical, no oil leaking from underneath. appears brand new ice cold air compressor clutch not spinning, but belt not getting hot. horrible sound while running but will start up and all electrical appears to work. what do you recomend? oil change/dry gas, blame ice cold air for faulty compressor?
wait til tommorow with some starter fluid spray. bet you/he flooded it out.
Or what does "horrible sounds" mean?
as you can tell I'm not a mechanic. the a/c is working. hard to describe the noise, don't think engine is froze or cracked, but definately get looks from other cars, starts up when needed, but doesn't sound like it would travel far. plan on adding dry gas in am,oil change and take to mech if no improvement.
I'm gonna say a bent rod.
