sorry to hear it. herniated C-4,5 and bulging C-6 here. depending on the severity of the swelling and what nerves (among other things) are being pressed on, on that particular day will determine what/where and how bad the symptoms are. consider constant pain your new friend and that's the best part. you can live with and get used to pain, even manage it to a degree with meds. lessened mobility, dexterity, coordination, strength etc. for a younger more active guy like you is worse. hopefully C-7 is low enough not to affect your hands/arms/ or shoulders like me. get some Metamucil and Colace if you plan on narcotic pain meds, don't plan on passing any drug tests and our wonderful new laws make it even harder to find places that will be allowed to carry those meds. steroid injections first, they will help with the swelling but make you eat like you got 2 A-holes, and gain wt. then the epidural injections that are pretty good at first but app 3,000$ per, more risky and you can't do them forever even if you had the $. sorry for all the good news. don't give up hope people snap oughta these all the time, maybe they can get it back in place, or we can let you into the old farts club early. consider me as always at YOUR cervix for any ?'s.
