yeah it looks rough, but the wood and steel in it are 100% better than those used today (as long as internal parts are OK). if you did a decent job of re-finishing the wood and a good bluing/repair ( remove that silly side mount) you would double your money or have a much better/classic firearm. see how much that WW gun is worth after it's gone thru time/treatment that 94 has. + it's a top eject thats so cool imo, if using open sights only. great project gun for after season/winter. there gonna be fewer and further between.
Agree Nacho, definately a project gun. For the time I have spent on the forum it doesn't appear we have too many folks interested in project guns. It's probably already sold anyway...
the last project I recall was a 760, you ended up doing the expensive re-blue and scope and the ditm took all the credit, never lived up to his end of the bargain , then migrated to another site. no good deed yada yada.
Reduced to $220.00, he'd probably take $200... It doesn't get any better than this for a classic Winchester that needs some restoration work unless it's for FREE!!!!
I am half tempted to take it and turn it into an all weather model but need the cash to lock down this lease we are working on.
just out of curiosity if you ever find out what caused the problem in the bbl, please let us know. if you have a sectional cleaning rod throw em away and get a good coated one peice rod. a lot of damage can be done by those sectional cleaning rods.
