I would think so, what's he had it for a year? hope he doesn't close up and skip town on you. the entire process would take him less than an hour.
Since we're talking about "3 balls" buck shot, I've got to tell you how big mine are. I have a Mossburg 835 3 1/2" and when I shoot buck shot I use a xx full turkey choke with 1 buck. I've killed 3 bucks between 100-130 yards, and either DTR or I was able to blood trail them to find them. So have I had buck shot balls of steel, or just Ignorant of the facts.

not sure I want to know what your balls are composed of. if talkin about shotgun shells a magnet would stick to steel shot. I'd guess some type of lead, possibly plated. the dixie tri balls are a lead/tin/antimony cast so it's harder and penetrates better than softer lead normaly used. but I wouldn't try shooting them in anything tighter than a mod choke unless it's a borrowed gun and your ex is pulling the trigger.
